Egg Hunt

Photos: Easter 2006

Just finished this layout...and in record time only 5 days from start to finish (unless you count the year+ it took to get around to scrapping these photos.) Jonas looks so little in these photos compared to the beefy 2 3/4 year-old he is now...ok, he's not exactly beefy but he's quite a bit taller at least.

Jonas' Spot

Photos: May 22, 2007

We had quite a bit of time to just hang out at the condo during vacation. There was a really cool window seat that Jonas chose as his spot and we spent a lot of time there playing with his toys or just sitting in the sunshine. It made a great spot for photos with the natural light coming in the big windows. The windows faced the golf course and Jonas liked to watch all the "tractors" (golf carts) go by. He would inevitably ask "Can I go ride the tractor? Please, please, can I, can I? Please!!!!"

Go, Diego, Go!

There was a big jacuzzi tub at the condo and Jonas had a lot of fun playing in it at bathtime. There was a "ramp" along one side perfect for Diego to ride down on his 4-wheeler. Sweet!

Vacation Fun

We're just ending our week-long vacation today. Tony has a connection and got us a condo at Eagle Crest where we spent most of our week. Jonas was with us part of the week and then spent a few night with his grandparents. Although the weather wasn't ideal, we did get to go swimming twice (once indoor and once outdoor) for a bike ride and to a really nice playground all on the resort. We also took several walks while Jonas got to ride in style in his stroller.

Mother's Day

Photo: May 13, 2007

For Mother's Day Jonas gave me a big pot of flowers with help from Auntie DeAnne, a Johnny Cash CD with help from Dad, and a lovely tattoo with help from Uncle Scott. (His other arm has the same tat but with "Grandma" in the heart.) We had a great Mother's Day.

Think Inside the Box

Like most kids Jonas loves boxes. He is so excited when we bring home the huge Costco box of diapers...he not only loves playing with the box, but he also loves to stack the packs of diapers in and out of the box. That game can last him at least an hour.

Namesake

This is a page from Jonas' first year scrapbook. It is a really fat, spiral-bound type scrapbook and it was kinda hard to get this scanned in...some of the text on the right-hand page is a little blurry, but still pretty readable. I love these photos of Jonas with his Great-Grandpa Hammack. So cool for my grandpa to get to have a great-grandson and even cooler to have his name carried on. Definitely one of my favorite pages in Jonas' 0-1 book.

Head Gear

Photos: May 14, 2007

As we were getting ready to take a walk monday morning, Jonas decided to steal my hat. Then he decided that he not only needed to wear my hat but he needed to have his hood up too. And he needed to have his cool new flash cards along for the ride as well. I was surprised that he left the hood and hat on during the entire 45 mins we were out for our walk. Just wait til he starts dressing himself everyday...I'm sure we'll see some interesting combos.

Digital Scrapbooking

Photo: April 2006

I am trying out digital scrapbooking. I just did this page today, my first one, as an experiment using Photoshop Elements and some free digital kits from 2Peas website. It's a lot faster, at least for me, than traditional scrapbooking...perhaps because I don't have a whole room full of supplies to choose from and it simplifies the whole process for me. I like the idea of doing everything on the computer but it's not the same as getting out all the paper and ribbon, tape and rub-ons and cutting and pasting it all together by hand.

Safety First

Fall

For some reason this layout took forever to scan and I couldn't ever get the colors adjusted correctly...the background is actually a really dark chocolate brown. Brown looks a lot better than this weird purpley-red that the scanner converted it to. Despite the color issue it's still one of my favorite pages I have done lately.
