The Look

Photo: March 4, 2007

This is Jonas' standard look: bed-head, snacking, watching cartoons.

Current Photos

I took these photos just this weekend, April 28th, while Jonas was playing with his football helmet. It was given to us about a year ago by some friends who's boy had grown out of it. It's still way too big for Jonas and he's played with it a few times to carry small toys around in but he never put it on until this weekend. The funniest thing, besides being way too big and on sideways most of the time, was that he kept pulling out the chin strap thing and telling me "I need to listen to your heart mom." Apparently he thinks it looks like the stethoscope he saw Dora the Explorer using on an episode a week or so ago. He can't quite remember where a heart is located...he pretty much thinks the heart is in the chin area...but after he listens to the "heart" he says "Ok,
that all better now." Does this mean Jonas wants to be a doctor when he grows up? If he does I hope he gets a better qualified teach than Dora so he can at least know where the heart is....and that football helmets don't come standard with stethoscopes.

What's this blog thing all about?

Hi to all friends, family and random visitors. I decided to make a blog as a way to keep everyone updated with all Jonas' adventures as he grows up. I had been emailing pictures and a short update to everyone a few times a year but I think this will be more fun. I will make time to post more stuff on this blog, and more frequently, than I have been emailing to people. I am completely new to all this "blog stuff" and if anyone is a veteran blogger and has tips for me, feel free to comment and help me out. I have my account set so anyone can comment on my blog whether you're a member or not....so let me hear some feedback, please.

I've also decided to share some scrapbook pages here which are, no surprise, all about Jonas. I am not up-to-date with my scrapping, like most scrappers, but I thought it would be a good way to share lots of photos in a nice presentation even if they are from a year or more ago. I have been playing around with my new scanner and I hope I can post my 12x12 pages at a decent size and resolution so they look similar to the real thing...and so you all don't think I am a crappy scrappy...I mean scrapper. I think I will most likely have to type out the journaling on the pages because it's a pretty small font and is not super-readable.

I guess that's all you need to know. I will attempt to email everyone when I post stuff so you can check back and see what Jonas is up to. Please feel free to let other friends/family know the blogsite that I may not have email addresses for...everyone is welcome to view and enjoy.

Playing at the park

One sunny day in March we walked to a park near our house. Jonas was very impressed by the twisty slide and had to take alot of trips down it during his playtime. He also discovered he is a fairly good climber for a two year old and could make it up this little rock climbing wall all by himself (most times). He would always go up the side with handholds that were farther apart...the easier side was just not enough of a challenge I guess.
